Electrolytic copper foil is an important material for the manufacture of rigid copper clad laminate, printed circuit board (PCB), and lithium-ion battery. Using electrolytic copper as raw material, dissolving it in sulfuric acid to make an aqueous solution of copper sulfate, and using the metal roller as the cathode, we continuously electrolytically deposit metal copper on the surface of the cathode roller through electrolytic reaction, and continuously peels metal copper from the cathode roller. This process is called raw foil electrolysis process. The glossy side peeled off from the cathode is the side seen on the surface of the laminate or printed circuit board, and the reverse side (commonly known as the rough side) is the side that needs a series of surface treatments and is bonded to the resin in the printed circuit board. The glossy side of the copper foil is very fine, flat and smooth, while the rough side must be smooth but with a very obvious uniform roughness to ensure the best adhesion between the surface of the copper foil and the organic material substrate, and the product itself must have high chemical and physical properties, hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties. Under the same process conditions, the two sides of the product have great contrast. Copper foil for lithium-ion battery is produced by controlling the organic additive composition of the electrolyte during the foil production process to realize the production of double-sided glossy copper foil.
